What better way to unplug and escape the hustle and bustle of city life than to venture out into the great outdoors for a cozy weekend away with the gals! Kick off camping season with a girls’ glamping getaway during Canadian RVing and Camping Week ‘ May 23-28, 2017.
Round up the gals, pack up your RV (or rent one), book your campground, and set out for a fabulous weekend of blissful adventure and serene beauty outdoors! Here are some travel ideas to get you started on planning your (peacefully) epic weekend away’
Who says camping has to be all about ‘roughing it” Pamper yourself with a spa day! Chances are, your campground will be within easy driving distance of a small town or perhaps a nearby resort with spa amenities. Most spas will accommodate group bookings for a pedicure party or access to soothing salt pools. What a peaceful way to get into the relaxed, calming groove!
Smell, swirl and sip’ Or is it swirl, smell and sip’ Whichever order you fancy, a wine tasting makes for a fun afternoon activity with the gals. If you’re camping in the Okanagan, Prince Edward County or Niagara areas, there’s a bounty of local wineries to visit and experience. Draw straws to designate a driver, or book a winery tour that offers pickup and drop-off to/from your campsite.
Too lazy to get dolled up’ Embracing the camp vibes and thinking you’d rather stay put at the campsite for the day’ Create your own little wine and cheese tasting ‘ ask the girls to each bring one bottle of wine, one glass and their favourite cheese to share with the group. (Just be sure to observe any campground rules around liquor onsite.) It’s an affordable and fuss-free DIY activity sure to be filled with good laughs and good conversation!
If swanky cocktails (or mocktails) are more your cup of tea, check out some summer bevvie recipes on our blog.
One of the best ways to #BringBackWildhood is to set out on a hiking adventure and admire the natural beauty that surrounds us. Of course, hiking trails vary from easy to moderate to difficult ‘ so be aware of your group’s experience level and inclination. For a more relaxing pace (in keeping with your blissful and peaceful weekend away), consider an easy to moderate trail or nature walk.
ps ‘ Bring your own binoculars. You just might spot some pretty birds chirping along the way. ;)
Curling up in your hammock and pouring into a good read is definitely a good way to unwind and de-stress in the woods. Bring along that paperback novel that’s been sitting undisturbed on your bedside table for months and find some (glorious) down time at the campsite to immerse yourself and get lost in storytelling.

One of the best things about traveling is grazing and exploring the local food scene. And you don’t necessarily need to dine at the top restaurants to experience the culinary beauty of a region.
