Happy Land Campground has been owned and operated by the Altmann family for 55 years. We pride ourselves on running a clean, quiet, well-supervised park. Campers who have previously experienced the quality of our park return time and time again to stay with us while in the Thunder Bay area. We are located on Hwy. 11/17, just 16 miles West of Thunder Bay and 1 1/2 miles East of Kakabeka Falls.

Policies

OFFICE/STORE HOURS 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM in the Peak Season and is subject to change in shoulder and Off-Season.

CHECK-IN/ CHECK-OUT Check in not before 12:00 PM Eastern time. Check out is by11:00 AM Eastern time.

NO ARRIVALS AFTER 11:00 PM unless prearranged with management.

NO EXTRA VEHICLES ALLOWED ON CAMPSITE OR CAMPGROUND ROADS. There are visitor parking areas throughout the park.

QUIET HOURS are 11:00 PM until 8:00 AM. Radios and stereos are to be turned off by 11:00 PM and campfires extinguished by midnight.

CAMPFIRES are to be made in steel fire pits only. Our portable fire pits are located in the sheds in front of the shower building. We sell firewood at the office. On your morning of departure, please leave the fire pit on your site and we will put it away. Do not put any trash in the fire pit. Fires are not allowed during windy conditions. IN CASE OF PROVINCIAL FIRE BAN DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HAVE A FIRE AS YOU WILL FACE CRIMINAL CHARGES.

RECYCLING AND GARBAGE A dumpster is located on our main road. We ask you to leave your site as you found it and deposit all garbage in dumpsters. Do NOT leave garbage bags in the washroom or shower building.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES Moderate drinking is allowed within your own Campsite. Public Intoxication will not be tolerated. We are a family campground.

PETS are welcome in the park providing they are on leashes at all times and cleaned up after. Please do not leave your pets unattended.

PICNIC TABLES Each site is provided with a picnic table. Do not take tables from other sites.

GUESTS Must register at office and must vacate campground by 10:00 PM (Please refer to map for Visitor Parking). They are not allowed to park on your site, or the campground roads. If your guest will be going inside the pool enclosure (whether swimming or not), there is a $5.00 charge, to be paid before entering the pool area.

SPEED LIMIT The speed limit is 15 KM.  WATCH FOR CHILDREN!!!

POOL USE People using the pool or hot tub must shower before. Footwear must be worn from the campground to the pool area and taken off in front of the pool gate and left in that area. The pool and hot tub are unsupervised. Bathers under 12 years of age are not allowed in the pool enclosure unless accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 16. These are Ontario's Health Regulations.

NO VEHICLE OR RV WASHING ALLOWED Our water is pure well water and is health approved. Please ensure that your water hose and connection are not leaking.

MOTOR OIL is not to be drained on the campsite.

BARBEQUES are not allowed on the picnic tables because of heat damage and drippings.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellations will forfeit the $25 deposit.
