We’ve rounded up six of our favourite campsites that are off-the-beaten-path for your next adventurous road trip with your RV crew.
Liard River Hot Springs Provincial Park
This provincial park is situated in lush boreal forest along the Alaska Highway in northern British Columbia. Featuring a year-round campground, Liard River is the perfect stopping point on your road trip to the Northwest Territories or beyond. Let the relaxing hot springs wash away your long drive and enjoy first-come-first-serve campsites nestled in the heart of a diverse forest.
Berg Lake Campground
Situated at the base of the majestic Mt. Robson, Berg Lake features some of the most popular trails in Canada! Explore turquoise waters, waterfalls, glaciers and the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
Berg Lake Campground is now by reservation only, meaning finding a campsite along the trail last-minute can be a challenge. With only seven spots along the trail, make sure you book your reservation for the 2019 season soon! In case you miss out on booking a trail-side campsite, there are some additional options that are little more than a hop, jump, and a skip away (but still within an easy driving distance).

Neys Provincial Park
Located on the stunning shores of Lake Superior, Neys Provincial Park is known for its fine sand beaches, amazing hiking trails and historic sites – including Pic Island, a spot immortalized by Group of Seven painter Lawren Harris.
RVing and camping are available May through mid-September and offer ample opportunity to bring back Wildhood. You may even spot an elusive woodland caribou on one of the many hiking trails available. Enjoy camping here in the summer and cool off on the spectacular 2-kilometer long beach that Neys offers.

Prairie Oak Campground
Just outside Emerson, Manitoba is the Prairie Oak Campground. This action-packed campground is perfect for adventurous souls that want to ATV, hike, swim or go fishing. This campground prides themselves on being off the beaten path, providing a quiet experience sure to bring you back year after year.
If you’re looking for an off-site adventure, make sure to plan a day trip to the nearby Fort Dufferin. This historic site was used by the Mounties in the 1870s, among other uses. Pack a picnic with the kids and enjoy a day learning and exploring!

Porteau Cove Park
Situated on a fjord, Porteau Cove Provincial Park features waterfront campsites with mountain views. Make sure to pack your diving gear since there is an old sunken ship in Howe Sound, attracting plenty of marine life to delight you on your dive.
Porteau Cove is open year-round, and has plenty of campsites available for reservation. If you can’t get a site on your preferred date, this unique spot allows you to park your RV in the parking lot and camp for a nominal fee.

Des-Rosiers Campground
Quebec is the perfect destination for your next RV adventure! Why not explore Forillon National Park from the Des-Rosiers campground? Des-Rosiers is located in Forillon National Park, the first National Park in Québec, where you can enjoy a day exploring Gaspé Bay with whale watching, climbing sand dunes and maybe even see a black bear or moose!
This campground also features a natural setting with plenty of amenities for a longer stay, including an outdoor pool, bike rentals and a playground for the kiddos. This pet-friendly campground is perfect for your next family adventure.
