Family-Friendly Campgrounds with Pools and Playgrounds

3 Min Read April 10, 2019
Let’s talk campgrounds. Summer adventures are just around the corner and we’re deep into planning mode! Whether your family wants to get out into the wild once or twenty times this camping season, you need to choose a place to stay that checks every must-have on your list. Looking for a family-friendly place to park your RV? Check out our handy Campground Finder! Here are some great camping spots in Canada that have swimming pools and playgrounds on site.

Lost Lemon RV Park & Campground (Alberta)

You’ll want to go to Blairmore, Alberta, if you like mountain views and fresh air. Lost Lemon RV Park & Campground sits along the Crowsnest Pass, the historic southern corridor into the Rockies. From here, you’re just a short drive to both Waterton Lakes National Park or the mountain town of Fernie across the provincial border. This family-friendly campground has both an in-ground heated pool and hot tub, playgrounds for the little ones, horseshoe pits and even a spot to cast your line into the Crowsnest River.

Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground (British Columbia)

Beautiful British Columbia promises an RV vacation of a lifetime no matter where you go, but what if you could combine a camping adventure with a big city getaway? Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground offers just that! It’s location in Burnaby means you’re a short trip to all that Vancouver has to offer, but still just a few minutes down the highway to the great outdoors. At the end of a long day of exploring, hang out with the family at the pool or playground.

Lilac Resort (Manitoba)

Treat your family to the waterpark at Lilac Resort, in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. The kids will love the wading pools and waterslides, but there’s also sporting facilities for beach volleyball, baseball, basketball, soccer – the list is endless! Nearby, there are plenty of mountain bike and hiking trails to explore in Sandilands Provincial Park. Enjoy the summer sunshine in Manitoba’s great outdoors.

Camping Oceanic (New Brunswick)

Is New Brunswick on your summer bucket list? Camping Oceanic in Shediac offers large pull-through campsites, a heated swimming pool and a playground for the kids. The best part? It’s just minutes away from Parlee Beach Provincial Park! Swim in the sun and salt water along the coast facing Prince Edward Island, then spend evenings by the pool.

Oakhill Pines Campground (Nova Scotia)

Take the family to Oakhill Pines Campground in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, if you like hiking, swimming and general outdoor fun! Aside from the outdoor activities, the town is home to a few fun attractions: museums for the family to learn a bit about the area, plus a couple of golf courses and a winery for the parents to indulge.

Sandy Beach Resort & Trailer Court (Ontario)

There might not be a pool, but Sandy Beach Resort & Trailer Court does have three playgrounds and a beach for the kids. Swim in Balsam Lake or watch the boats go by at the nearby Fenelon Falls. The Kawarthas are the perfect destination for campers who like to spend time on the water, too.

Cavendish KOA (Prince Edward Island)

Green Gables, Prince Edward Island, will not disappoint as a family-friendly destination. The Cavendish KOA is just a few minutes from Anne of Green Gables’ farm and they know what kids want from a camping trip. Heated pools, hayrides, outdoor movie nights, day camps – heaps of family-friendly activities to choose from!

Domaine Au Grand R (Quebec)

Another camping and waterpark duo, but this time in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Domaine Au Grand R knows that kids love to play outside and they offer plenty of family-friendly activities aside from the playground and waterpark. Just off the St. Lawrence River, this destination makes for a great road trip as well!   Where are you taking the family camping this year? We can’t wait to see where you go!
