
Road Trip To Saskatchewans National Parks
Saskatchewan is home to two national parks that are very different from one another. Prince Albert National Park in the northern boreal forest and Grasslands National Park in the prairie grassland natural region. The two national parks are perfect examples of the provinces varied landscape. Just over six hours separating the two parks it is the perfect way to see a wide variety of what Saskatchewan has to offer while visiting this prairie province.

Grasslands National Park
Start your trip in Saskatchewan by exploring the southern region of the province while exploring Grasslands National Park. Grasslands only sees about 8000 visitors each year due to its southern and more remote location. Located over two large plots of land near the Saskatchewan-Montana border, this landscape provides a look into the past of the true wild west, offers you the ability to see over 70 species of grasses, stunning night skies and some of the best wildlife you will ever see.


Grasslands National Park Campgrounds
Grasslands National Park has two campgrounds one for each of the blocks – Frenchman Valley Campground in the West Block and Rock Creek Campground in the East Block. Frenchmans Valley offers 20 electrical sites and Rock Creek offers 24 electrical sites. Reservations are recommended ahead of time to secure a spot.


Prince Albert National Park
Prince Albert offers so many incredible things to do for family, couples and adventurers alike. From the possibility to catch a glimpse at some of the wildlife including boreal woodland caribou and plains bison, to be able to spend the day hiking through the thick boreal forest, swimming on the beach of Waskesiu Lake or relaxing in one of the 5 campgrounds located throughout the park.


Prince Albert National Park Campground
There are five front country campgrounds throughout Prince Albert National Park – Beaver Glen, Red Deer, The Narrows, Namekus Lake and Sandy Lake. The first two offer electricity and the last three are unserviced. Beaver Glen and Red Deer and more better suited for RV’s as well as they also have flush toilets and showers.
