Looking for some easy camping meals for the family?
Camping food doesn’t need to be hard work. The best camping meals can be easy and fun when you put a bit of thought in ahead of time. Preparing meals in advance of your RV trip allows you to maximize your outdoor adventure time and enjoy evenings by the fire with family.
This is the perfect camping meal idea for your next RV trip. Once you’re at the campsite just take out the containers, dredge the chicken in flour, and then fry away! It’s easy and takes minimal time.
The best part is, cleanup is a breeze because there are only a few containers and bowls to wash at the end. Also, frying outdoors is always a win because I don’t have to worry about oil splatters. Here’s what you’ll need.
Ingredients:
Here’s what you do:
Before you leave on your trip, start prepping! Place your chicken thighs in an airtight container and add buttermilk. Let it marinate in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight.
Then, add the flour, cornstarch, and spices to a plastic freezer bag and seal. Set aside in a cool dry place.
When you’re ready to fry, make sure your oil is nice and hot. Place each chicken thigh in the flour mixture and then in your pan. Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove from oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels.
Assemble your buns by lining one half with spicy mayo. Add your coleslaw, pickles and any other favourite toppings. Enjoy with your favourite fries, pasta salad, or side.
